Let's say a patient came to you, and after careful assessment, you found out that blood sugar level is high, heart rate is a lot faster, vomit contains blood, breathing rate is slower, and inflammation of joints, that would be a lot of words to express, right?

How about we say, that the patient suffers from hyperglycemia, tachycardia, hematemesis, bradypnea, and arthritis? A lot simpler, efficient, and more organized.

That is the whole purpose of medical terminology, to shrink the medical condition into a single term, based on Latin language (or complex of English-Latin words), and that is why medical terminology is universally used in all medical books and references.

This practice test is all about evaluating your skills and understanding of medical terminology, and having the ability to relate them to diseases.

This may help you in constructing a patient record/profile efficiently, and importantly, in assessing and treating the patients conditions little easier.
