Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) currently offers pharmacy technician training, testing and certification in all states, but only 19 states require certification in order to work as a pharmacy technician. It is most well known for their role in developing and administering the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). Passing this exam allows the pharmacy technician to carry the status of Certified Pharmacy Technician (CphT). PTCB certified pharmacy technicians are required to renew their certification every two years. They are also required to perform 20 hours of continuing education each two-year period to qualify for recertification.
Benefits of utilizing these PTCB practice tests:
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Candidates must meet eligibility criteria to take the PTCB exam. This could involve completing a PTCB-Recognized Education Training Program OR equivalent work experience, as demonstrated by these two pathways:
Pathway 1: A PTCB-Recognized Education / Training Program (or completion within 60 days).
Pathway 2: Minimum of 500 hours of equivalent work experience as a pharmacy technician. This alternative secondary path serves experienced technicians who were not in a position to attend a PTCB-recognized program. PTCB accepts work experience across pharmacy practice settings that pertain to certain knowledge requirements.
A career as a pharmacy technician is a stable one with ample employment opportunities and increasing demand. Pharmacy technicians work in pharmacies, including those found in drug stores, general merchandise, grocery stores, and hospitals. There are options to work both full and part-time. The job outlook for pharmacy technicians is bright with an above-average growth rate.
However, before you become certified as a pharmacy technician, you are required to pass the national PTCB exam. It is possible to complete a study program or have met the prerequisite experience hours and still fail the PTCB exam. This is where our practice exams come in. These practice tests simulate the actual PTCB certification exam and ensure that you indeed understand the subject matter.
