DescriptionMy name is Jessica Pottebaum and I am a third year student in the entry level occupational therapy doctoral program at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. I completed my doctoral capstone experience at Genesis Outpatient Therapy at Valley Fair in Davenport, Iowa. I created my doctoral capstone project focusing on Lee Silverman Voice Training-Big (known as LSVT-Big) and occupational therapy. This presentation will provide insight into my 14-week experience, critically appraised topic, and needs assessment. By the end of this course my hope is that each viewer is able to understand three different objectives
Objective 1: the importance of LSVT Big for treating Parkinson’s disease
Objective 2: be able to describe functional outcomes due to LSVT Big exercises
Objective 3: incorporate different approaches to marketing services and benefits of LSVT Big to different doctors and patients
This will provide a comprehensive resource of LSVT materials that were used and created during my 14 week doctoral experience. At the end of this course, there will be different questions to answer regarding the topics learned and discussed. If you feel that you have any interest in or could benefit from learning about the LSVT Big program and protocols this course may be right for you!
