First of all there is no “one size fits all “ practice when it comes to
meditation. Rather there are a number of techniques that can be
used, all of which will suit different people and different
temperaments, this course is carefully designed to help you to find
a practice that works for you.
I have met many people who say ‘I tried meditation and it wasn’t
for me’, I truly believe that this is because they were shown one
technique and told to go away and practice. Without ever
discovering if that technique was what worked for them and they
didn’t have any support to establish a regular practice.
Meditation is much more effective when we understand exactly
what it is and what we are trying to attain through our practice.
When we have an understanding of the mind we are better placed
to understand our practice.
This course has been carefully designed to support you in finding a
practice that works for you. We will explore 6 different techniques,
The course is designed so that you practice each technique for
about a week, so as you can experience how it really feels for you,
and over the six weeks working through these different practices
you will discover which one works best for you. 6 weeks is also
how long it takes to build a habit, so we are working towards
establishing a practice that will fit in with your life. Along with the
different practices we will explore how to set up a practice area,
the practicalities of maintaining a comfortable seated position.
How to establish a regular practice, that fits with your lifestyle and
commitments, and some of the barriers to establishing a practice.
We will explore what meditation is and start to understand the
nature of the mind.
Throughout the course you will have access to full support via the
