The course has been developed looking at the world over a requirement by the students and the general public who want to understand and know about mental health and mental illness after the pandemic situation. Since many people have been affected mentally and people and they themselves are not able to recognize the mental conditions. Students can able to learn to differentiate between mental health and mental illness easily. This course will teach the students about mental health, its meaning, definition, components like accept self and others and meet the demands of life, mental health criteria, and indicators of mental health, and characteristics of a mentally healthy person and about mental illness, its meaning, definition, characteristics, features like disturbances in bodily functions, disturbances in mental functions, changes in individual and social activities, and somatic complaints, and common sign and symptoms of mental illness like the type of disturbances in motor behavior, disorders of thought, disorders of perception, disorders of emotion, disturbances of consciousness, disturbances in attention and orientation, disturbances of memory, impaired judgment, disturbances in biological functions and causes of mental illness, misconception prevailing in society about mental illness and how to achieve mental and physical balance for a happy and healthy life.
