The English Language has over 170,000 words in current use and yet the average native english speaker knows just about 40,000 words. Even further, out of these 40,000 words, only about 20,000 are used by the average speaker on a daily basis. These are called the active vocabulary and the passive vocabulary. A person’s passive vocabulary refers to how many words he or she knows and the active vocabulary refers to how many of those words he actually uses regularly.

In this course, you’ll learn how to increase and activate more words to use on a daily basis at home, at work or any other setting where a comprehensive set of words will be readily available to you. This course will build on what you already know by offering more sophisticated yet simple synonyms to add variety to your choice of words.

The vocabulary is divided into opposite themes. To help you appreciate this, we provide examples with each word so you can start using your newly acquired vocabulary in conversations right away. We take it a step further by providing the complimentary parts of speech that collocate with the word, so you are assured of using the words correctly and fluently.
